System repair and recovery

It could happen to anyone at anytime. The hard truth in the computer world is that electronics fail. You can own a $299 Costco special, or have a custom built setup with over $1500 invested into it.

Sometimes this can happen unexpectedly and Personal Computer Support will step in and do our best to assist. If we are unable to recovery the data, we will point you in the direction of someone who will. Depending on your issue, we may be able to power your device on in a special unit designed to read data and copy to an external drive. We can provide your data on a portable drive and/or assist in the transfer to a new drive.

# Issue Possible Solution
1 Warning on screen Early stages of a hard drive issue could potentially display an alert within your Operating System (example). It’s possible to repair the drive, but still a great idea to consider back up options.
2 Hard drive “clicking” sounds If you hear clicking type sounds coming from within the system, you may have an imminent hard drive failure. It’s time to back up data.
3 Unable to boot to Windows OS Often times, a system unable to boot can still have its data recovered. This could be a failed MS update or corrupt Operating System data that causes this.
4 Internal hard disk drive not found Occasionally, this could be a bad cable or a mis-configuration. The drive may also be no longer responsive.
